Eurex Introduces New Micro Futures to Access European Markets
Eurex, a leading European derivatives exchange and one of the leading clearing houses globally, has launched a new micro product suite – Micro-DAX®, Micro-EURO STOXX 50® and Micro-SMI® Futures in response to increasing interests from market participants for smaller-sized futures contracts.
The new micro futures have low daily margin rates and are a cost-efficient way for global investors to access the European equity index futures markets.
The Eurex micro contracts have a multiplier value of 1 which makes the contract value calculation simpler as it equates to the respective product index price. In comparison to the regular futures contracts, Eurex micro contract values are significantly smaller, further reducing potential portfolio tracking errors and providing investors with precise hedging opportunities.
The Eurex micro product suite is designed in parallel to the established EURO STOXX 50®, DAX® and SMI® Futures. These products are available in the different time zones, creating more trading and hedging opportunities for our global trading participants.
Phillip Capital Inc. stated: “We are excited to offer our futures clearing clients access to the Eurex micro product suite. We believe these additional products will offer our clients more access and scalability to Eurex Exchange’s high demand products.”
John Bartleman, President, TradeStation said: “We’re proud to offer our customers new micro futures. By partnering with Eurex, we’re able to really set ourselves apart from other platforms.”
Earlier this month, Fazzaco reported on Eurex listing new factor futures to offering - STOXX® Industry Neutral Ax Factor Indices which covers the European and US markets.
